How many Banking Associates do you recruit every year in China?
We recruit around 60 Banking Associates every year in China.

What are the similarities and differences between the International Graduate Programme and the Banking Associate Programme?
Both programmes are trainee development programmes for our managerial pipeline. The International Graduate Programme is focused on international development and is run by the Bank's Head Office. The Banking Associate Programme is focused on the Chinese market, to meet the needs of dramatic business growth locally. Trainees in both programmes experience well-designed development frameworks that include classroom training, on-the-job rotations and mentoring from managers.

Does it matter if I don't have a background in finance?
Not at all. We welcome applications from people with a variety of degree disciplines. Our main concern is that you display the talents we're looking for, and you're enthusiastic about making a difference at Standard Chartered. You can do this by passing our online assessments and doing well at your interview.

Do I need any work experience?
No, work experience is just one of the many factors we consider. We also look at your talents and skills - you may have gained these through other life experiences, such as travel, study, research or community activities.
