ANZ has just established a new Global Operations and Service Centre in Chengdu, to support its business growth in both retire Asia Pacific Region and China, across a variety of customer products and services.
 
At present, ANZ Chengdu Global Operations & Service Centre is going to set up an internship program in decision modelling. This program aims to recruit postgraduate students who will graduate in 2012, to lead students directly involved in our project based working environment, to work as assistants to provide supports to our (senior) analysts in ANZ DMDI team.
 
Through this internship program, we will provide all interns with well structured trainings and practice opportunities in retail finance credit risk modelling and analytics field, and coach interns to adapt with ANZ Values and develop career goals in line with our focus on excellence. We will continuously carry out evaluations, and at an appropriate moment to provide employment offers on a selective base, for the position of Decision Modelling Analyst in DMDI team in ANZ Chengdu Hub.
 
 
Eligibility
 
·          Postgraduate students in 211 universities and will graduate in 2012.
·          Both the current studying and the previous bachelor degree study are in some extensively quantitative relevant disciplines, preferred majors including statistics, operations research, applied mathematics, econometrics, industrial engineering, etc.
·          Applicant should be available to work in ANZ Chengdu hub location for at least 3 days per week from August 2011 to the moment of graduation in 2012.
 
 
Requirements
 
·          Strong analytical and logical aptitude, research and numerical problem solving competence.
·          Strong interests with data and programming coding. Superb attention to details.
·          Solid knowledge in statistics / data-mining fields. Experience in statistical software tools (e.g. SAS) is preferred.
·          Workable English communication capability is a must.
·          Team-work player, fast learner and have strong initiative and high level of integrity.
 
 
Responsibilities
 
·          Work in the decision modelling team to assist our (senior) analysts on corporate decision modeling projects including:
o         Data integration, manipulation, cleaning and other preparation tasks
o         Assist to develop and validate statistically derived risk models across the consumer credit lifecycle, including application, behaviour, collections, etc.
o         Assist to analyse, develop and validate retail business unit strategies
o         Assist all aspects of data management and model delivery, including data sourcing, appropriate usage of data and model delivery documentations
o         Provide other ad hoc data analysis where required
